The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Women’s Center will commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month by hosting the annual Clothesline Project on Wednesday, October 18, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the Campus Center Plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
The Clothesline Project aims to raise awareness about domestic violence by inviting participants to decorate a t-shirt with messages that will serve as testimony to the problem of interpersonal violence and let those who may suffer in silence know that they are not alone. The t-shirts will be displayed on the Campus Center Plaza October 18 –25.
The event is sponsored by the UH Hilo Women’s Center, LGBTQ+ Center, Office of Equal Opportunity, and Child and Family Service Hilo.
