Four UH Hilo students awarded national study ...

Four students at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo have been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State to study abroad for 2019-2020.

Shawna Smith and Polina Kozinskiy, Business Administration majors, were each awarded $2,000 to study in New Zealand. Smith is studying at Victoria University in Wellington, while Kozinskiy is studying at the University of Waikato in Hamilton.

Lilia Anderson-Murray, a Marine Science major, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship and will spend her semester at James Cook University in Australia.

Sienna Wareham, a Business Administration major, received a $5,000 scholarship and will spend a year abroad in Asia, starting in South Korea at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul.
