The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo is offering classes on Russian culture with Olga Sideleva.
Exploring Russian Culture will give participants an overview of Russian history, politics, food, drinks, literature, ballet, family traditions, and superstitions. The class will be interactive, with opportunities for questions and discussion. Classes will be held on Thursdays, February 1 – 22, from 4:30 – 6 pm in UH Hilo’s Kanaka‘ole Hall, Room 106. Cost is $45.
Exploring Russian Culture: Music will look at various aspects of classical and modern Russian music: from folklore to the opera, and symphony to Russian punk rock. Classes will be held on Thursdays, March 1-22, from 4:30 – 6 pm in UH Hilo’s Kanaka‘ole Hall, Room 106. Cost is $45.
Sideleva is a native of Russia who holds a Ph.D. in genetics, as well as professional certifications as a teacher and a professional cook in the Russian Federation.
