The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a hands-on professional development workshop entitled Essential Skills & Tools for 21st Century Job Seekers. Classes will be held September 19-27 from 5 – 7 p.m. in UH Hilo’s UCB Room 103. Tuition is $95.

Aaron Martinson, who has taught college business writing classes and earned a master’s degree in online education, will show participants how to assess their employable skills and apply for jobs locally, statewide, and nationally using online resources. Students will also learn to utilize professional networking, employment sites, employment engines, and social media profiles to increase their chances for employment. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to create and post a resume online, locate online job openings, complete employment online applications, and be better prepared for interviews through practice sessions.
