The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) hosts a series of workshops on the fundamentals of professional development. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays, July 13-27, from 5 – 8 p.m. in UH Hilo’s UCB Room 331.
The classes will focus on practical instruction that demonstrates the essential skills required to step confidently from personnel to supervisor to manager. Participants will gain insights into everything from making a good first impression to motivating people and managing change in the workplace.
Phase 1: Soft Skills Matter: Making Your Hard Skills Shine is scheduled for
July 13; Phase 2: Supervisory Skills: Making the Transition from Buddy to Boss will be held on July 20; and Phase 3: Management Skills: Keys to Effective Leading takes place on July 27.
All three sessions will be taught by Siniva Pota, owner of S. Pota Services, which provides professional academic tutoring, financial and motivational workshops, along with general business, accounting and consulting services.
The classes can be taken for a bundled discount of $125 for all three, or separately for $45 each.
