The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) offers a one-day workshop on autism spectrum disorder on Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, in UH Hilo’s UCB Room 114. Cost is $35.
Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will include an overview of ASD, as well as interventions and information about behavioral assessments and programs, assistive technology and advocacy for services.
Instructor Johanna Taylor, Ph.D., is the current program manager at Easter Seals Hawai’i Early Intervention Program in Hilo. Taylor, a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), specializes in training parents, caregivers and support staff in educational and behavioral interventions to facilitate learners with autism and developmental disabilities.
