The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers water management workshops with Zach Mermel. Participants will learn simple, do-it-yourself techniques for welcoming water into shared watersheds, even during large rainstorm events.
Water Wisdom: Strategies for the Homescape is for gardeners, homeowners, and renters who are interested in minimizing the impacts of water runoff on their small property. Class will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 9 am – noon at the Hawaii Community College Forest TEAM Greenhouse. Cost is $40.
Water Wisdom: Strategies for the Farmscape is for farmers, ranchers, homeowners, and renters who are interested in minimizing the impacts of water runoff to their medium to large property. Class will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 1 – 4 pm at the Hawaii Community College Forest TEAM Greenhouse. Cost is $40.
Mermel holds a master’s degree in ecological design from the Conway School, and his work and education in ecological design have taken him across the Hawaiian archipelago, the U.S. mainland, and beyond.
