The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a workshop on Zentangle art entitled “Zentangle Basics and Beyond” for ages 12 and up.

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn and fun method of drawing structured patterns that can also boost mindfulness for relaxation and creativity. Participants learn the basics of Zentangle, including concepts, techniques and vocabulary, then create waterscape pieces while exploring composition and color theory. Classes are on Sundays, February 11 and 18, from 1 – 4 p.m. at UH Hilo’s PB-7 meeting room. Cost is $75 and includes an introductory Zentangle kit. Participants are responsible for providing their own sketchbook and pencil.

Instructor Sara Krosch is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) who has been practicing the art form since 2015. She is currently a graphic designer, small business owner and arts festival producer.

For more information and to register, contact CCECS at 932-7830 or visit http://hilo.hawaii.edu/ccecs/.
