The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers two healthy eating classes with dietitian Sarah Josef.

A Health at Every Size (HAES) Approach to Weight Management is for people who have struggled with weight management. Participants learn how to mindfully use their body's cues regarding food intake, develop a personalized approach to eating, explore techniques to appreciate their body and create fun ways to move for increased vitality. Classes are on Mondays, February 5 –March 19 (no class on February 19), from 5 – 7 pm in UH Hilo’s Kanaka‘ole Hall, Room 112. Cost is $70.

HAES Advanced Workshop explores barriers to mindful eating, especially in the context of social situations. The class is on Monday, April 2, from 5 – 8 pm, in UH Hilo’s Kanaka‘ole Hall, Room 112. Cost is $30. A discount package for both classes costs $95.

Josef is a Health at Every Size dietitian with a B.S. in Dietetics and an M.A. in Holistic Health Education. Her teaching is based on 20 years of experience with disordered eating clients, motivating long-term, clinical trial research participants at Kaiser's Division of Research and mentoring students at San Francisco State University as Director of the Dietetics Program.
