The Women’s Center at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo celebrates Women’s Empowerment month and the election season with a free public screening of the film Iron Jawed Angels. The screening will take place on Wednesday, November 16 at 5 p.m. in UCB Room 100. Refreshments will be provided.
Iron Jawed Angels is the little-known story of a group of passionate and dynamic young women led by Alice Paul and her friend Lucy Burns, who put their lives on the line to fight for American women’s right to vote.
The event is sponsored by the UH Hilo Women’s Center and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Hilo chapter.
