The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a pair of workshops focusing on the fundamentals of professional development. The classes can be taken for a bundled discount of $80 for both, or separately for $45 each.
Supervisory Skills: Making the Transition from Buddy to Boss will be held on Thursday, November 3, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in UCB Room 331. Management Skills: Keys to Effective Leading is scheduled for Thursday, November 10, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in UCB Room 331.
The sessions will focus on practical instruction that demonstrates the essential skills required to step confidently from personnel to supervisor to manager. Participants will gain insights into making a good first impression to motivating people and managing change in the workplace.
Both workshops will be taught by Siniva Pota, who has extensive supervisory and management experience, and employs an energetic, people-oriented approach to promote unity and build a happy workplace environment.
