The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo is offering a film appreciation series with Artin Mardirousi. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, June 15 - July 6, from 5-9 p.m. in UH Hilo’s K-122. Tuition is $60.
Participants will learn how to view movies from a new perspective, with a deeper appreciation and understanding of what it takes to make a great film. The course will examine the different film techniques, individual uses and their effects on the story’s overall experience. Films and subjects to be viewed include: Children of Men (2006) - directing; Pulp Fiction (1994) - editing/writing; Goodfellas (1990) – music/narration; The Wrestler (2008) or The Pianist (2002) – acting.
