The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers “Learn to Play Guitar in a Day!™” on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 891 Ululani Street, Room 116, in Hilo. Cost is $100 and includes a book and clip-on electric tuner. Participants must provide their own acoustic guitar.
This workshop is designed for busy adults who want to learn to play guitar but don’t have time for weekly lessons. Participants will learn basic chords, simple strumming and picking patterns, basic music theory, tuning techniques, guitar care, music resources, performances skills, and more.
Marlene Hutchinson, creator of “Learn to Play Guitar in a Day!™” presents her one-day workshop at colleges, universities and other locations around the United States. Her DVD airs on PBS and she has been featured on CBS, NBC, National Public Radio, Acoustic Guitar magazine, the Women’s International Music Network, and several news publications.
