The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers an Edible and Medicinal Mushroom Cultivation workshop on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in UH Hilo’s College of Agriculture Building, Room 102. The cost is $85 and includes supplies.
Instructor Zach Mermel will teach participants how to inoculate their own mushroom kits and logs to take home. The benefits of mushroom cultivation will be discussed, including how mushrooms can be used to repair damaged ecosystems and enhance the diversity and resilience of one’s farm, garden, and home.
