The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Faculty Congress and the College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) hosts a free public presentation on the impact of sewage pollution on Hawai’i Island water quality.
“What’s the scoop on the poop? Sewage pollution in Hawai‘i Island drinking and coastal waters” will be held on Wednesday, September 16, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in UCB Room 100.
Drs. Tracy Wiegner, professor, and Steven Colbert, assistant professor, both from marine science, will provide information on sewage pollution impacts to human health, the health of the coastal waters and coral reefs, how sewage is detected, and its presence in Hawai‘i Island drinking and coastal waters.
