UH Hilo to host talk on Exoplanets ...

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Physics and Astronomy program, in conjunction with the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) and the Gemini Observatory, hosts a talk by Dr. Steve Howell, the project scientist on NASA’s Kepler Mission Science Team, on Tuesday, July 7, 7 p.m., at the UH Hilo Science and Technology Building (STB), Room 108.

Howell’s presentation will include an update on the groundbreaking space telescope mission with recent results on exoplanets and the implications for life in the universe. Howell serves on numerous review panels and was most recently a member of the National Academy of Sciences panel on NASA's Constellation System. He has worked with NASA Headquarters to help establish the Kepler guest observer office at the NASA / Ames Research Center and currently works at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California.
