The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) offers a one-day dance workshop, Introduction to Brazilian Zouk, on Saturday, June 27, 2 – 5 p.m., in the Vulcans Gym. The workshop is open to participants ages 16 and up, and the cost is $25.
The workshop is taught by Marie Alonzo Snyder and introduces the basic rhythms, musicality body movement and partnering techniques for leading and following. Alonzo Snyder holds a BFA and MFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, as well as a Doctorate in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
