The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo presents a series of five six-hour sessions on Agroforestry beginning March 14. The sessions will be held on campus at the College of Agriculture Building (CAB) 102, adjacent to the UH Hilo greenhouse.
Zach Mermel of OLA Design Group will conduct the sessions, which will be held on successive Saturdays. The cost is $325 for all five classes or $75 per session. The classes and topics are as follows:
• Session 1: Overview of Agroforestry Practices for Hawai’i's Farmers (March 14th)
• Session 2: Useful Agroforestry Plants for Your Farm (March 21st)
• Session 3: Integrating Animals into your Agroforestry System (March 28th)
• Session 4: Right Plant, Right Place: Intercropping and Other Strategies (April 4th)
• Session 5: Diversified Farm Development (April 11th)
