The College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo is offering a non-credit course on “Basic Seed Saving for Home Gardeners.” The class will be held on Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 891 Ululani Street, Classroom 116, in Hilo. The cost is $30.
The class will equip participants with the ability to recognize the types of flowering and reproductive cycles of vegetables and discuss how to collect, process, and store seeds. Participants will also learn strategies to maintain seed purity and viability.
The class is taught by Linda Burnham Larish, who is a member of the Hawaiʻi Seed Initiative.
